The Julius Baroš Quintet is a formation of three generations and is inspired by the music of the 50s and 60s (C. Brown, F. Hubbard, M. Davis, Ch. Parker, etc.). Leader Julius Baroš is an excellent trumpeter, known for his collaboration with Laco Deczi or Štepán Markovič in ESP, performed in many Prague big bands and was a long-time member of the Film Symphony Orchestra – FISYO. The youngest generation is represented by a significant talent on the Czech jazz scene – double bassist Tomáš "Kaštan" Baroš. The rhythm section is completed by experienced sidemen: guitarist Jaroslav "Barney" Kantor and drummer Radek Němejc.
