Los Quemados is a Prague-based fusion formation.
The band of bassist Filip Spaleny was formed in 2008 and has played many concerts in the Czech Republic and Europe, especially four albums – African Sailor (2010), Sirius (2012), Circling Bird (2015) and Duck Night (2019), which were released on the Slovak label Hevhetia Records. In 2025 they added a fifth track to this list – Perfect Sphere, released on Alexey Charvat's jazz label Amplion Records, which was recorded in the summer of 2024 in Michal Šembauer's studio.
Los Quemados present interesting, original and energetic compositions by Filip Spálený and Jakub Doležal, Jan Balek and Petr Mikes in the style of jazz, funk and fusion. The instrumental proficiency, energy and overall interplay of the band is at a really high level. The musicians cite names such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Chick Corea, Michael Jackson, Victor Bailey, Vincent Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Weather Report, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Tower of Power, Pat Metheny and Tribal Tech as their inspiration.
