The performers
Renata Drössler ()
Renata Drössler is a Czech chansonnier. She graduated from DAMU in Prague and has made thousands of public appearances. Maybe someone remembers her from Semafor or Divadlo pod Palmovkou, where she plays and sings in the play Edith and Marlene as Marlene Dietrich, or maybe the audience saw her in Dracula (the role of the Hour Nymph - Dracula's ex). In total, her theatrical career includes forty roles. Her solo performances have two basic formats: the chamber format, where she is accompanied only by a pianist, or the club format with a trio (piano, double bass, percussion). Renata Drössler is one of the stalwarts of Czech chanson. Her expression is a combination of singing, understanding of lyrics and theatricality, which she has acquired not only thanks to her graduation from the DAMU in Prague, but also thanks to three decades of practice. She first introduced herself to the Prague audience in the first half of the 1990s at the Semafor Theatre, where she took over the repertoire from Hana Hegerová. She released a total of 5 CDs and in 2022 she released her first vinyl LP Motýl něhy uletí, set to the chansons of Jiří Žáček. She sings in 12 languages and has over 200 songs in her repertoire.
