The performers
Cyrille Oswald ()
Cyrille Oswald is a Dutch saxophonist based in the Czech Republic. Cyrille Oswald began his professional music career in the early 1990s while living in the Caribbean. After returning to his native Holland, he studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague under John Ruocco. Since then he has recorded and performed in Holland and abroad with ensembles such as Cubop City Big Band, Nueva Manteca, Rumbata and others. Since 2008 Cyrille Oswald has been living mainly in Prague. After lecturing at jazz workshops organised by the Czech Jazz Society, he soon formed his own quartet with David Dorůžka, Tomáš Liška and Daniel Šoltis and recorded his fourth (fully original) album The Wrong Present with the same line-up. Cyril Oswald's music draws from many other musical areas - world music, alternative music or modern classical music.
Daniel Bulatkin ()
Daniel Bulatkin is a youngest jazz star you'd know. He is only 18 years old and still studying high school. When he was 15 years old, he won 3rd place in the prestigious solo piano improvisation competition ‘Pianist of the Year 2015’, and next time he did the same. He is a private student of many recognized pianists in the Czech Republic and abroad, Omer Klein, Brian Charette, Vojtěch Eckert or Jiří Levíček, and he also perfects his craft on several workshops. Among others with the bebop legend George Cables.
