A journey through the soulful sounds of Bolivia and Latin America through contemporary experimental jazz and improvisation, interpretation and fusion of classical and popular music rhythms from Latin America. Danilo Rojas is a Bolivian-born Australian concert pianist and composer who specialises in the rich and vibrant Latin American musical aesthetic. Major classical works by Latin American composers also play a significant role in his repertoire. He combines his own compositions, which include solo piano pieces, with his refined skills of live improvisation on stage. Listeners will be introduced to a wide range of genres including jazz, cueca, lando-festejo, huayno, tango, milonga, Latin jazz, bossa nova and more, through arrangements of classical and popular music as well as traditional music.
