Libor Šmoldas Organ Trio + special guest: Michito Sanchez

Friday 24. 05. 2024, 20:30

Libor Šmoldas Organ Trio will perform with a special guest – Michito Sanchez. In his organ trio, Libor has invited the excellent organist Jakub Zomer, whose popularity with the Czech jazz audience is constantly growing, and drummer Daniel Šoltis, known for example from the bands -123 Minut or Vertigo. The band released the album Lay It Down in 2017. Libor Šmoldas Organ Trio will surprise you with a surge of positive energy with which he plays his own compositions, based not only on the jazz tradition, but also strongly leaning on the blues, funk and soul of the sixties. The trio's characteristic sound is ensured not only by Liborova's guitar and well-crafted percussion, but also by the authentic Hammond B3 organ, an instrument well known to a wide range of music lovers, but rarely seen or heard in our country. Michito Sanchez will never forget the day he was called to play percussion in sessions with both Crosby, Stills & Nash and Elton John. Naturally all days cannot be as auspicious, but one such as that is an indication of the caliber of musicianship Sanchez has become known for. There have been countless musical highlights — the Rolling Stones, Don Was, Bruce Hornsby, Robert Palmer, Herbie Hancock, Placido Domingo, Luis Miguel, Glenn Frey and an endless list of sessions, videos and live performances in every genre of music.

Michito Sanchez ()

Michito Sanchez is one of Los Angeles' top drummers. In his performances he’s known for simplifying or intensifying complex rhythms to fit the contemporary sound of pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop and jazz. Over the years, Sanches has been invited to a number of projects and has collaborated with noteworthy names such as the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Joe Zawinul, Joe Walsh, Robert Palmer, Herbie Hancock, Plácido Domingo, Elton John, Eric Benét, Michael Bublé or Monica Mancini.
