Acoustic Needles will perform at U Staré paní. Acoustic Needles is a fresh musical project that combines elements of jazz, funk and hip-hop in a distinctive crossover. The leader of the group and author of most of the repertoire is multi-instrumentalist Jakub Eben, who grew up in a family of musicians. The band prides itself on the fact that although the songs are difficult for musicians to interpret, they are accessible and fun to listen to. The songs are also interesting with unconventional rhythms or harmonies. Other members of the project are singers Emma Vyskočilová and Zaira, guitarist Lukáš Velemínský, bassist Jan Neruda and drummer Vojtěch Záhora. The players who make up the band have passed through Czech or foreign music schools (Conservatorium van Amsterdam, HAMU, Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and College of Music, etc.). The project has already released three EPs with guest appearances by Martin Brunner Jr. and Miroslav Chyška. In 2022, Acoustic Needles won the Jazz Fruit competition organised by the Mladí tuní jazz project.
