The New Orleans Quartet is a jazz band from Israel, specializing in traditional New Orleans jazz and Dixieland. It was founded over seven years ago and has since established itself as the leading ensemble of the genre in the country. The band regularly participates in major festivals such as The Shuni Jazz Fest, The Israel Festival in Jerusalem, The Jerusalem Jazz Festival and The Tower of David Jazz Festival. It has also performed at prestigious clubs such as The Yellow Submarine in Jerusalem.
The band's repertoire includes well-known classics from the 1920s as well as lesser-known gems from that period. Their performances are characterized by an authentic sound and energy that transports the listener back to the golden era of jazz.
Eli Preminger (Trumpet): one of the leading trumpet players in Israel. Leader of Eli and the chocolate factory sextet, player for Marsh dondurma and musical advisor for Israel's New Orleans Jazz Fest. \
Shimi Gilad (Banjo): One of Israel's leading banjo players. Leader of The Dr. Jazz Dixieland Band and co-founder of The Floy Joy siwng band. \
Anton Lutzki (Tuba): A prominant Tuba player, former filharmonic orchestra player and currently plays in more than 6 bands. \
Amnon Ben Artzi (Trombone): An experienced tromone player. Performed with national and international bands including "The stompers".
