The quartet VallesantaCorde celebrates folk music and takes its audience’s breath away. Their music blends the passion of Balkan sounds with the pride and nostalgia of tango, the playfulness of klezmer with the lightness of swing. Fiery duels between guitar and violin are reined in at the last moment, only to merge again with the solid foundation of double bass and percussion. Melodies brimming with joy and energetic rhythms alternate with moments of melancholy, before breaking out again in an unexpected burst.
