Jacobfour Jazztet
Thursday 16. 07. 2026, 20:00
The Jacobfour Jazztet was formed in 2024 on the initiative of trumpeter, pianist, educator, journalist, and announcer Jakub Horváth (Ferdinand Havlík’s Swing Band, Václav Kozel’s Big Chess Band, Felix Slováček’s Big Band; interviews: Helena Vondráčková, Laco Déczi, Václav Týfa, Václav Kozel, Ondřej Soukup), who reached out to his longtime friends and fellow jazz musicians through and through: Daniel Fiedler on piano, František Uhlíř on double bass, and Ondřej Vomáčka on drums. Together, they formed a fresh musical ensemble perfectly suited to the intimate atmosphere of club performances. The repertoire consists of jazz standards such as “Little Sunflower” and “Moon Alley,” which are not often heard on the Czech jazz scene. However, their composers are a guarantee of quality, as they include Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Tom Harrell, Marvin Gaye, and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Some of the arrangements are written especially for us by Václav Kozel, the long-time chief conductor of the Czech Radio Big Band. Composer, arranger, and producer Daniel Barták and Markéta Wagnerová will perform as vocal soloists.
